State of Washington v. Convergent Outsourcing, Inc.
WA-AGO Convergent Debt Collection Restitution

WELCOME TO THE WA-AGO CONVERGENT DEBT COLLECTION RESTITUTION WEBSITE

What is this lawsuit about?

The Washington State Attorney General's office investigated and sued the Renton-based, national debt collection agency Convergent Outsourcing, Inc., for sending misleading letters to consumers that contained "settlements offers" to resolve old debts that were past the statute of limitations for a collection lawsuit.  These "settlement" offers created a deceptive impression that Convergent could sue consumers when it could not, and failed to disclose that Convergent could not enforce the debt in court. As a result of this lawsuit, affected Washingtonians who sent money to Convergent will get back the money they sent to the company, plus interest.

Additional information is also available in the Washington State Attorney General's June 2020 Press Release and September 2021 Press Release.
